FOOTBALL FAQ


1) How many players will be on each team?  In order to maximize playing time and player development, teams will have 18-25 players per team. 

2) How are teams selected?  Once registration is closed, tryouts will occur. Each player will make a team. Tryouts are used to create competitive teams within our league.  Following tryouts, head coaches will meet to select players for their team.  Parents will be notified following regarding their coach, practice time and any additional team information. 

3) How many games will be played in the season? 8 games + playoffs.  There will be all-stars available for selected kids that will be optional to participate in.

4) When and where are practices? Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings at Grand Oaks High School.

5) When and where are games?  Grand Oaks High School for our home games and road games are throughout north Houston.  

6) Are there sibling discounts?  Yes. They are built into the registration process.

7) Is there a payment plan for registration?  Yes.  Please select Zelle for your payment option and pay 50% of the registration amount to hold your roster spot.  The other 50% will be due by June 1 or we will not be able to complete uniform orders for your child to participate.

8) Where can I find the rules for this league?  These are being updated as our partner leagues are merging rules.  We will have them out asap.  You can download last year's rules on the website and they will still hold true for the most part.

9) What if I want to coach? Our league is run by volunteers! If you would like to coach please indicate that on your child’s registration. Once registration closes and we have a final count of players and volunteers you will be notified by the league regarding your coaching status. 

10) Do we have any coaches blocks like other leagues?  Yes.  During registration you will have the option for coaches comments for any coaches that you feel might not be the right situation for you and your family.

11) Why do we need to do a fundraiser?  The costs and expenses for renting the best facilities around isn't cheap.  We also think that this helps the kids get involved and develop some skillsets for their futures.  Any family that gets a sponsorship to the league from a company in excess of $1,000 will have their personal fundraiser responsibilities waived.

12) What equipment do I need? A We encourage our players to have their own gear so they can work on their skillset all year long when they want to.  Each player will need a helmet and shoulder pads of their own.  We have 40% discounts on gear available so don't go get it on your own without speaking with our uniform chairperson.

13) Are we able to play other sports during the season? Absolutely!  Football will need to be the focus to ensure more playing time, but we have a ton of kids that play baseball during the season of football.

15) How do refunds work if we have a change of plans?  We can honor full refunds up to May 1 and 50% refunds up to June 1.  No refunds available after June 1.
